THE BEST WAY TO TAKE CARE YOURSELF
Sure we know that looking after our health through an exercise routine and healthy eating is good for us. It keeps our weight in check, helps us stay active in old age, and keeps the youthful feeling alive in us. We spend so much time comparing our bodies to others, while not focusing on how we can better ourselves. Here are 4 tips to take care yourself more through a “keeping fit” routine.
- EAT WHOLEFOODS
Consuming wholefoods is one of the best decisions a person can make. It is vital for weight loss. Making plants the base of one’s diet and supplementing it with nuts, seeds, loads of water, legumes and some whole grain is the best way to get a lean body. A diet with no whole food tends to clog the liver, thereby inhibiting weight loss as the body has to work much harder to eradicate toxins and not excess fat. Moreover, wholefoods also increase concentration, prevents diseases, aids weight loss, eases digestion, reduces headaches, balances hormones, enhances vitality and energy, and balances your emotions and moods. The more you eat unhealthy food, the more bad and miserable you will feel about yourself. So eat real food.
Additionally, most of the food we consume tends to feed out brain, not our tissues, not our muscles but firstly our brain. People who frequently consume processed and refined food have a 60% more chance of going into depression. Contrast this with a mineral and vitamin rich diet, which balances your concentration and mood. Which one would you prefer to stay happy and healthy?
- EXERCISE
Exercise even if you have just 20 minutes to do it. A short gym routine is better than nothing at all if you are short of time. If you do not have time to go to the gym, simply do jumping jacks or crunches, but do some workout. You will feel better. To aid yourself, you can invest in a fitness tracker; they really make you work out more, especially if you are the type who is motivated by goals. You are supposed to take 10,000 steps a day at a minimum to keep a healthy body.
- MIX UP YOUR ROUTINE
Do interval training one day, yoga the next day and a light jog the following day. If your fitness regime does not bore you, it is more likely that you will stick to it. The endorphins that are released after a workout session, will make you happier, more satisfied with yourself, and therefore will make you love yourself.
- DONOT WAIT FOR AN OCCASION TO GET IN SHAPE
If you rush to the gym only six weeks before you need to wear a skinny dress to a party, you will kill yourself trying to meet unrealistic goals, feel down on yourself and feel miserable in short. And when the event is all over, you will have no motivation to carry on with your workout routine. Make fitness your lifestyle, not just an exercise in vanity.
Life is a gift, and it offers us the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility to give something back by becoming more.
